What I feel within me is a root

What I feel within me

is a root

that comes from beyond my tree

that weaves beyond the world I live

into the skies

in which

they watch over me.

The root ascends

beneath my breast

and tightens when

I need to cry because we share

the root that came the day

in which

when your father died.
