Biography
Kannetha Brown is a Cambodian-American film photographer based in Providence, Rhode Island. Primarily known for her documentary and editorial photography, Kannetha takes on a small amount of weddings per year, working with couples that are drawn to her artistic sensibility. Her photographs have been featured in The New York Times, Elle USA, Rolling Stone and more. She earned her BFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
Kannetha’s wedding photography unites editorial style with tender storytelling, creating timeless images that celebrate the individuality of her couples. Inspired by her mom’s photo albums after immigrating to the US, Kannetha understands photography as a way to stop time and remember what we love.

How far in advance should we book you?
Typically, wedding clients book me 5-12 months in advance. Engagement and all other sessions can be booked at least 1 month in advance.Do you help with the planning process?
I’m happy to help where I can. If you need help with your scheduling outlines or any feedback, etc., let me know.How many weddings do you take on per year?
As I primarily work as a documentary and editorial photographer, I only take on 3-5 weddings per year.How long have you been a photographer?
I’ve been a working photographer since 2017. -
What cameras do you shoot weddings with?
I shoot 35mm film, medium format film, and Polaroid film (for an additional charge).Do you have backup gear?
Yes I do! -
How many images do you include?
My packages vary based on hours of coverage and number of photographers, but we typically deliver 25-50 images per hour.What is your turnaround time?
It depends on when your session is! For example, in the heart of the season (May-October) then you can expect your gallery in 5-7 weeks, and 4-6 weeks in the off season (November-April).Can you photoshop us?
I do not photoshop. My focus is on documenting authentic moments and emotions, we spend less time removing blemishes, etc. If you’re particularly worried about something, let me know before we work together and we’ll talk things through.Can we order prints through you?
At this time I do not do my own printing. -
How do payment schedules work?
I require a non-refundable 25% retainer to book your spot. The rest of your payment is due 1 week before your wedding.How does covering travel expenses work?
This is a case by case basis. I do require that in addition to the package price, you cover all travel + lodging fees outside of Rhode Island. -
What if there is bad weather?
For weddings, I always embrace the weather. Clouds actual make for beautiful images. For all other sessions, I’m happy to reschedule.What happens if you can’t make it to our wedding?
I will be so sad if I have an emergency or have to miss it, but I will do my best to find a replacement photographer and refund your final payment, if it was already made.
